Yin Yang

Yin and yang, the principle of inseparable opposites, rests on the balance between yin; the force associated with shadows, moon and femininity, and yang; the bright, sun and masculinity. To obtain harmony in all aspects of life, the two energies must be in balance.

Feng shui is an ancient system of laws considered to influence land and buildings through the flow of energy. The literal meaning of the words feng and shui is wind and water, as landscapes are thought to impact the “cosmic current,” or energy, around us. Materia takes different forms; solid, soft, fluid, but everything is made of qi, which means life force. In many Asian countries feng shui is used to decide exact positions of buildings and significant structures, using different methods to promote harmony, prosperity and good fortune.

“Qi is the force of life. Qi is in everything.”
